“And the President’s Award for Prestigious Design goes to Matthew Chambers,” the presenter announces.
The audience stands to their feet with a thunderous applause.
A petite man approaches the podium and accepts the award. “My father often scolded me as a child because I constantly bumped into people as we walked around the city. I was infatuated with these structures coming from the sky, not knowing they were built from the ground up.” Matthew pauses. “He now lives in a high-rise condo I designed.”
He glares across the room at his father. “Whose head is stuck in the clouds now?”
